Middleton House on the Market

A home called “Middleton House” is on the market in Britain, but it’s not the home of Michael and Carole Middleton in Berkshire — rather, it’s the former home of Sir Joseph Nickerson in County Durham.  But the home does have a peripheral connection to Kate Middleton — it was once a lover’s getaway for the not-yet-engaged Prince Charles and Diana Spencer.

Eve McGowan of the Daily Mail writes, “Will Prince William and Kate Middleton get married? Yes, if a property newly placed on the market is an omen.  When Charles and Diana were at the same stage of their relationship, they met in secret at the homes of friends.”

One of those homes, she explains, was the house owned by Sir Joseph.  She adds, “And what is the seven-bedroom lodge called? Middleton House …”
