Will Kate Attend This Weekend’s Royal Wedding?

The gathering has been subject to much press attention since the couple’s engagement was announced in February.  This weekend, the Daily Mail wrote, “The couple’s marriage at Hampton Court has been tipped as the society wedding of the year, with guests including Princes William and Harry and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.”

Whether or not we’ll see William or Kate at the wedding on Saturday is still a matter of question.  In August Camilla Tominey of the Daily Express reported, “With the Queen and Prince Philip otherwise engaged at a regimental event in Yorkshire that day and Charles, Camilla, William, Kate and Harry all looking ‘very unlikely’ to attend, according to aides, the September 12 wedding is turning into a decidedly damp squib.”

In the seemingly-unlikely event that William does attend, I think we can all expect to see Kate on his arm.  She has been his guest at nearly every wedding he’s attended over the past two years, including the nuptials of Nicholas van Cutsem and Alice Hadden-Paton, Rupert Evetts and Chiara Hunt, and his cousin, The Hon. Laura Fellowes, and Nick Pettman.

Kate has also attended two of the most recent Windsor family weddings solo, including Peter Phillips’s May 2008 wedding and Lady Rose Windsor’s nuptials later the same summer.  Kate and Lord Frederick have been friendly in the past, as evidenced by the photo above, taken at the opening of The Shop at Bluebird in 2006.  We’ll all have to wait to see if we can spot her at Saturday’s wedding, either with or without (but hopefully with) her royal beau.
