William and Kate leaving Gatwick airport (Photo Credit: TIF's Royal Forum)Just in time for the bank holiday weekend in Britain, Prince William and Kate Middleton returned from their reported jaunt to the Caribbean island of Mustique late last week.

The pair were spotted at Gatwick airport outside London after their return flight landed.  With William at the wheel, the two drove away from the airport in his Audi Quattro, followed by protection officers in another car.  The Sun noted that the car is new, and explained that “Bosses of the German firm will hope sales soar as they did when Diana drove a convertible A4 in the 1990s.”

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that William and Kate were to visit with The Queen at Balmoral during the August bank holiday weekend, which extends through today.  Whether or not they jetted up to Scotland is still unsure — we’ll all have to stay tuned!

This week's Hello! cover (Photo Credit: hellomagazine.com)This week’s issue of Hello! magazine, which has the wedding of the singer of The Corrs on its cover, features a story on a possible 2011 wedding for Kate Middleton and Prince William, written by Judy Wade.

Wade writes, “Hello! can exclusively reveal that courtiers are discussing wedding plans ‘at a very high level.’”  She adds that “two highly credible sources have revealed to Hello! that plans are being discussed for a wedding to take place in 2011 — information which has also been reported by a Sunday newspaper.”

That newspaper is, of course, News of the World; their royal reporter, Robert Jobson, wrote a few weeks ago that 2011 was the most likely date for a wedding because the schedule for 2010 was too packed, and because William and Kate will reportedly be married already at the time of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012.

The Hello! article also features news from the van Cutsem wedding reception that Kate and William attended as a couple last weekend, including a large photo.

Internet royal watcher Mapleleaf has kindly shared scans of the article with us over at British Royal Wedding — you can view the scans at this post.  Thanks, Mapleleaf! :)

Kate deer stalking with ghillies at Balmoral in autumn 2007 (Photo Credit: Mail Online)Daily Express columnist Vanessa Feltz writes this week that when royal girlfriends like Kate Middleton stay at royal residences, they have to seek separate sleeping quarters from those occupied by their princes.

Feltz explains, “The Queen will not be inviting courting couple Prince William and Kate Middleton to disport themselves beneath a shared royal duvet at Balmoral,” adding, “This is one of the sovereign’s cardinal rules. In making sure that it remains set in stone, William’s granny has succeeded where many parents and grandparents have failed. She has resisted openly condoning the pursuit of premarital sex under her vaulted palace roof.”

Some may argue that, if Feltz’s information is accurate, The Queen may be deluded about the nature of the relationships of her unmarried grandchildren.  But Feltz argues, “It’s not, you may be assured, that Her Majesty doesn’t realise Wills and his Kate have been happily indulging in sexy sleepovers for many a long year. It’s just that she doesn’t consider it seemly to give their pre-nuptial couplings a royal warrant.”

The Queen has long exercised specific rules about when and how royal girlfriends and boyfriends can participate in family functions.  One of her most stringent stipulations: unmarried partners of royal family members may not attend the annual Christmas Day lunch at Sandringham House until they are officially engaged.

Kate Middleton and Prince William on Mustique in 2008 (Photo Credit: Splash/Mail Online)Just days after Kate Middleton returned to England after a family holiday to the Caribbean island of Mustique, British tabloids are reporting that she has jetted away to the sunny getaway again, this time with boyfriend Prince William by her side.

William and Kate were rumored to be heading off on a holiday after their appearance at Nicholas van Cutsem’s wedding, where William served as an usher.  William’s schedule apparently allowed for the trip because good weather had meant that he and his fellow trainees were ahead of schedule in their SAR helicopter training.  Many royal watchers tipped Balmoral as the likely spot for their getaway, based on earlier reports that they would be meeting with The Queen in Scotland this August, but it seems now that they had sunnier climes in mind.

The couple has traditionally taken a summer holiday to a tropical place in August.  They took a holiday to the private island of Mustique in August 2008 as well.  No new photos from this vacation have surfaced, and many outlets are reusing pictures (like the one above) from earlier holidays to illustrate their articles.

The Mirror quotes an anonymous source, who says, “They are having a fantastic time. Kate and William have been spending a lot of time on the beach and William has been showing off his skills on the jet ski.  They are having the time of their lives and haven’t stopped smiling since they got here.”
